The Founders of the Alpha Gamma Chapter were young women who were very focused on their academics and campus community leadership. They felt that Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha Incorporada would provide a great outlet and a channel for their talents; and that these talents could be directed towards serving their local latino community. On December 12, 1999, the women of 'Latinas unidas por el Amor a la Hermandad' realized their dreams, as they became the founding Hermanas of the Alpha Gamma Chapter of Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc. At Binghamton University. And they are:
